I'm still not sure exactly how I feel about this one.

The inking, I was...fairly satisfied with (which was done with traditional methods, then scanned and digitally colored).
For coloring, I wanted to give it an "old" feeling, therefore over complicating this whole event.

in the end, I feel it's too dark and unclear. But that could just be me. I'm not fishing for compliments. Just honest feedback.

I like the colouring and the feel of it.. the darks fit. I just have two minor remarks: one, you have not added shading to the trees on the last pic, opposed to the second one. I noticed it immediately as not fitting in with the overall style.
Second i somehow find the eyes of the kid too scary. They almost seem to be sorceress-eyes and not kid's eyes.. toning it down a bit would also bring out the dark feel more.. i think.

But when not nitpicking.. great story, great colouring and nice build up in atmosphere.

You're right. I kinda noticed the kid's eyes, but It was something that slipped by.
And the trees wasn't something I'd thought about. But now that you mention it....

have you ever seen the video by GoodCharlotte for their song The Chronicles of life and death? the animated parts in it really remind me of this picture is really great hope to see more of this :+fav:

The paper and the grain look too digital, and since the art looks hand done, It's kind of a stark contrast. couldn't you just keep it on the original paper and age whole thing?

The art is great though, I really like the sky in the bottom left, and the boys face/eyes
