~Watercolor~2007~
Another older painting, but still one of my favorites :D
The concept is taken from the Hawaiian myth and lore of the "Night Marchers". It is said that a procession of spirits continue their march, and if you should find yourself in their path, nothing good will come of it.
This painting, of course, is not exactly the Hawaiian legend, obviously. I transferred the idea into an environment I'm more familiar with. A depiction of the legend as it would be in Hawaii is next on the list ;)

This is a really eye-catching piece with a lot of personality. The subject matter reminds me intensely of the Night on Bald Mountain segment of Disney's Fantasia, but the colors and setup are all their own. I like the roughness in the brush strokes, as well as the wispy trees that become more transparent and disappear within themselves. The water spots on the water to the right seem to be a bit distracting, but nothing that actually takes away from the picture. Overall this piece has a nice style and simplicity that is rarely seen lately, and I'm glad to see more from you.
